El Nido - Kitchen

For this kitchen remodel, the biggest challenge was figuring out a layout that would allow for entertaining and still feel intimate enough for the family to relax in. Our residential design solution: Enlarge the spaces and create an open plan concept. Essentially, we designed a great room where the kitchen spills onto the living room. To blend his and her aesthetics (the husband preferred a much more contemporary design; the wife, a slightly more traditional feel), we used a mix of decorative surfaces including: walnut, veneer, and stone. Now, the open plan kitchen features a marble waterfall island that doubles as bar and eating area, and a cozy breakfast nook.
