Orinda

The 1940’s home was originally built by a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright. The owners wanted to update and expand the Craftsman style home while staying true to its distinctive characteristics and historical influences. We created a home layered with texture utilizing wood and a rich color palette of browns and blues. It was important to the clients to use handcrafted, natural materials as much as possible. As a result, the furnishings are a combination of modern and Arts and Crafts style. This project is an example of residential design accommodating a mix of styles in an elegant way.
