This family of five was seeking an interior designer to create a high-end home that could be sophisticated enough to display the family art (the wife inherited an art collection from her grandparents) and sturdy enough to handle the chaos of three growing children. A place where luxury, whimsy and hard play could co-exist. We knew just what to do! Taking advantage of the sloped site, we maximized the views and the indoor/outdoor California lifestyle. A fireplace seamlessly connects the front porch to an interior sitting room. An oversized mid-century front door unveils an art-gallery entry, which leads to an open floor plan, complete with hardwood flooring and coffered ceilings. Exotic woods are juxtaposed with white, high gloss finishes. Streamlined furnishings, in shades of browns and whites, are punctuated with pops of colorful art. Whimsical home accessories abound. A game room houses a ping pong table and pop-art inspired decor. To blend his and her style, we mixed warm colors with contemporary art and furniture.
