Patio Spaces

It’s outdoor season. With the warmer weather upon us, it’s time to spruce up your backyard. Whether you’re looking to maximize your indoor-outdoor lifestyle, add more privacy to your patio, bring an element of fun to your deck, or make your outdoor oasis more comfortable and functional, we’ve pulled together some of our favorite brands and styles to help ready your home for the great outdoors.

Belgium-based Tribù is our go-to for contemporary outdoor furniture. Their designs are luxurious but discreet. We are currently coveting the Nodi chair designed by Yabu Pushelber. The light and airy seat is defined by twisted-interlaced rope made from PVC and hemp, overlaid on a wireframe silhouette. It’s perfect for creating a modern outdoor dining space.

If you’re looking for outdoor lounge furniture, Italian purveyor Paola Lenti has a playful yet sophisticated offering, including couches and side chairs The Ami collection, designed by F. Rota, features rope chord detailing. Love seats pair nicely with ottomans. Curved high-back seats provide a bit of privacy. Available in jewel tones, these gems will add a touch of festive flair to garden grounds and elegant vibrancy to verandas. To create an even more playful backyard destination, opt for one of their suspended chairs. Adagio is their version of a single swing and Wabi will gentle sway two comfortably.

Another Italian brand we love is Exteta. Plush, modern shapes bring in a sense of comfort and coziness. The Levante Sofa is a structural piece designed by Massimo Castagna; perfect for beachside retreats and country homes. We also like Castagna’s Panarea Collection. It’s a little more refined and available in a contrasting weave which gives it a regal touch.

Our last insider tip for European outdoor furniture is DDC. With showrooms in New York, Los Angeles, Boston and Miami, it’s easy to transform your patio into a stylish space accustomed by those admired for their joie de vivre. The Shibui series consists of a chaise lounge, armchair and various platform beds, made from turned bamboo that has been treated with water-based protectants. These pieces are ideal for cabanas and trellis-covered spaces. Sleek, sexy and unexpected.
